Cairo, Egypt - Apr 06, 2024: The funeral of Ahmed Fathi Sorour, former Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly.

Gamal Mubarak, the son of the late Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, attended the funeral prayer for Ali Ahmed Fathi Sorour, the former Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly. Sorour was buried in the family cemetery in Heliopolis. Sorour passed away at the age of 92, as announced on his son Tariq Fathi Sorour's Facebook page. Ahmed Fathi Sorour served as the Speaker of the People's Assembly for 21 consecutive years, from 1991 until 2012.
