We asked Egyptian <a href="https://themiddleframe.com/@muhammad-radi">photographer</a> Mohamed Radi, our Photographer of the Month, about his artistic journey in the world of photography. He said:
&ldquo;I am Mohamed Radi Gouda, 32 years old. I always like introducing myself using my full three-part name because I keep discovering talented people who share the same first and last name. I remember the first time I took a photo was in 2009. My father had a digital camera, so I secretly took it and tried taking pictures the same way my father and older brother did.
I always consider that I truly started photography in real-life settings as a hobby in 2014, and as a job in 2018. Photography has always been connected to my love for cinema, theater, and music, and I&rsquo;ve always been fascinated by how to capture people&rsquo;s nature and inner emotions through the image. I learned that a picture equals a thousand words.
Over time, I got to know most types of photography. I started with street and people photography, then moved to food and product photography, followed by events and music concerts&mdash;which are closest to my heart. Eventually, I got into shooting behind-the-scenes of movies and festivals.
In past years, something kept occupying my mind: the ability of photographers to document their work on major platforms. I always wondered, &lsquo;Do I need to be a photojournalist to achieve that?&rsquo; This is why I began following the work of great photographers from different photography schools to develop myself.&rdquo;

So when I reached the final stage of the 35 Awards competition, I was very happy because it ranked in the photojournalism category. Whenever I feel lost or distracted, I find support from my father, prayers from my mother, and encouragement from my siblings in every situation. I find calmness in many moments that help me try and strive to see things from a different perspective.

I felt a mix of stress and excitement&mdash;excited to participate and at the same time focused on capturing images that express the inner emotions of the artists attending the festival.&rdquo;

سألنا <a href="https://themiddleframe.com/@muhammad-radi">المصور</a> المصري محمد راضي مصور الشهر عن مسيرته الفنية في عالم التصوير، فقال: أنا محمد راضي جودة، عمري 32 سنة، دائما أحب تقديم نفسي بالاسم الثلاثي نظراً لأني طوال الوقت بكتشف مبدعين يحملون نفس الاسم, اتذكر أن أول مرة التقطت فيها صورة كانت في عام 2009، كان والدي لديه كاميرا ديجيتال، فأخدتها خلسة، وجربت التصوير مثلما يفعل والدي وأخي الأكبر. دائما اعتبر أني بدأت تصوير على أرض الواقع كهواية في عام 2014 وكوظيفة في 2018، التصوير دائما كان عندي مرتبط بحبي للسينما والمسرح والمزيكا وكان ودائما يشغلني كيفية نقل طبيعة الناس وأحاسيسهم الداخلية التي أراهم من خلال الصورة، لأنه مثلما تعلمت أن الصورة تساوي ألف كلمة، بمرور الوقت تعرفت على أغلب أنواع التصوير، كانت البداية من تصوير الشارع والناس بعد ذلك تصوير الطعام والمنتجات، وبعدها تصوير الفعاليات والحفلات الموسيقية المقربة لقلبي وفي الاخير تصوير كواليس الأفلام والمهرجانات. في السنوات الماضية كان يشغلني قدرة المصورين علي توثيق أعمالهم على منصات كبيرة وكان دائما يشغلني سؤال: هل يجب علي أن أعمل مصورا صحفيا لكي أتمكن من تحقيق ذلك؟ ولهذا صرت أتابع أعمال أعلام المصورين الكبار من كل مدارس التصوير لكي أتمكن من تطوير نفسي.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a powerful technology that is now "pervasive in everyday life," as noted by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). From the apps on our phones to complex systems used in healthcare and finance, AI is shaping our world in profound ways. However, this power comes with a significant challenge: AI systems are built by humans and trained on human-generated data, meaning they can replicate and even amplify existing human biases.
A significant part of this challenge is the AI "black box" problem. Many modern AI models are so complex that even their creators cannot fully understand the exact reasons behind a specific prediction or decision. Imagine a brilliant student who consistently gets the correct answer on every test but can never show their work. You can&rsquo;t learn from their method, you can&rsquo;t trust their reasoning, and you can&rsquo;t be sure they didn&rsquo;t arrive at the answer for the wrong reasons. Research on Explainable AI highlights this same issue with AI systems. Due to these challenges&mdash;the risk of amplifying bias and the lack of transparency&mdash;we require clear rules and ethical guidelines. This system of governance is essential to building public trust and ensuring that AI systems are developed with a "human-centred vision."
Recognising these risks, governments and organisations worldwide have begun the essential work of establishing these crucial rulebooks, demonstrating a global collaboration in AI governance that you are a part of.
<h3>AI Governance: Building a Framework for Trust</h3>
A Global Effort in Building a Framework for Trust. Here are a few key international examples:
<ul>
<li> The European Union: The EU has established the EU AI Act, one of the most comprehensive regulations to date. It categorises AI systems based on their level of risk and sets strict rules for those considered most sensitive. The act outlines specific requirements for "High-Risk AI Systems" and even defines "Prohibited AI Practices" deemed too dangerous for society.</li>
<li> The United States: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has published documents to promote technical standards and best practices for AI. Additionally, the government released a "Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights" to guide the design and use of automated systems to protect civil rights and promote democratic values.</li>
<li> China: A government White Paper on "Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence" created a framework centered on building trust in AI systems, emphasizing the importance of high-quality training data to avoid bias.</li>
<li> Australia: The Australian Human Rights Commission published a technical paper specifically addressing the problem of algorithmic biases in AI and outlining strategies for mitigation.</li>
</ul>
Notably, these global efforts converge on a common principle: creating a trustworthy ecosystem by assessing risk and ensuring human-centric values, regardless of their specific legal or cultural context. The core purpose of these frameworks is to find a balance to leverage AI's incredible potential for innovation while simultaneously addressing the significant risks it poses to fairness, safety, and human rights.
While these governance frameworks provide the blueprints for responsible AI, they all point to a single, critical foundation upon which every system is built: the data. Your work in ensuring data quality is crucial in this process.
<h3>The Fuel for AI: Why Data Quality is Crucial for Fairness</h3>
AI models are trained on data, and their performance, fairness, and reliability depend entirely on the quality of that data. The old saying "garbage in, garbage out" is especially true for artificial intelligence; if an AI is trained on flawed data, it will produce flawed results.
<h3>Deciphering 'Good' Data: What Makes Data Quality Crucial for Fairness?</h3>
Recognising the importance of data quality, regulations like the EU AI Act set specific criteria for the datasets used to train high-risk AI systems. According to Article 10 of the act, high-quality data for AI should have three key characteristics:
<ul>
<li> Relevant and Representative: The data must accurately reflect the real-world situations and populations where the AI will be used. This helps ensure the AI's decisions are applicable and not unfairly skewed against certain groups or contexts.</li>
<li> Free of Errors: The data should be as accurate and correct as possible. Training an AI on data full of mistakes is like teaching a student from a textbook with incorrect answers; it will learn flawed patterns and make inaccurate predictions.</li>
<li> Complete: The data should not have significant gaps or shortcomings. Incomplete data can create blind spots, leaving the AI with insufficient information to make a fair or accurate judgment in specific scenarios.</li>
</ul>
<h3>How Bad Data Creates Unfair AI</h3>
One of the most significant problems with data quality is bias. According to APEC research, harmful biases are most likely to enter the AI lifecycle during its earliest stages, particularly during three critical early stages:
<ul>
<li> Problem Formulation: Defining the goal of the AI in a way that reflects flawed human assumptions.</li>
<li> Data Collection: Gathering data that over-represents some groups and under-represents others.</li>
<li> Data Pre-processing/Labelling: Cleaning and labelling data in a way that introduces or reinforces stereotypes.</li>
</ul>
The technical data requirements in governance frameworks are designed to counteract these ethical risks directly. For instance, the EU's mandate for "Relevant and Representative" data is a direct control against biases introduced during the "Data Collection" phase. If a dataset used to train a loan-approval AI primarily contains data from one demographic, its decisions will inevitably be skewed against others. Likewise, ensuring data is "Free of Errors" helps prevent biases that arise during "Data Pre-processing/Labelling," where mislabeled data can teach an AI to associate incorrect or stereotypical attributes with specific groups.
To prevent this, formal "data governance and management practices" are required. This involves carefully examining data for possible biases and, as mandated by the EU AI Act, taking measures to "detect, prevent and mitigate" them before they can corrupt the AI model.
As developers grapple with these data quality and bias challenges, a new type of data has emerged as both a potential solution and a source of new ethical dilemmas: synthetic data. This innovative approach holds great promise for the future of AI.
There are two primary types of data used in AI development:
<ul>
<li> Real Data: Information collected from direct observation or interaction in the real world, such as customer reviews, satellite imagery, or clinical trial results.</li>
<li> Synthetic Data: Algorithmically generated information that mathematically mirrors the properties of real-world data without corresponding to any actual individual or event.</li>
</ul>
The use of synthetic data is growing so rapidly that some experts predict it "will completely overshadow real data in artificial intelligence (AI) models&rdquo; by 2030. It offers robust solutions to some of AI's most significant data challenges, but it also introduces new risks.

The journey toward responsible AI is not about finding a single perfect solution but about building a system of checks and balances that includes strong governance, high-quality data, and a commitment to transparency. A central tension in this field is the dilemma between the need for vast amounts of data ("data availability") to build powerful models and the fundamental right to protect individuals' private information ("data protection"). Striking this balance is one of the most critical tasks for developers, policymakers, and society as a whole.
The ultimate goal is to make AI systems more transparent and accountable. This requires moving beyond the "black box" and developing systems whose decisions can be understood and questioned. This is the focus of a critical research field known as Explainable AI (XAI), which is dedicated to creating techniques that make complex AI models understandable to humans. Ultimately, the journey to responsible AI is not about perfecting the technology itself, but about ensuring it remains a tool that reflects the best of our shared human values. This goal makes explainability less of a technical feature and more of a moral necessity.

A Beginner's Guide to Responsible AI: Understanding the Rules, Ethics, and Data

We asked Egyptian photographer Shahd Mostafa, our Contributor of the Month, about her artistic journey in the world of photography. She said: I am Shahd Mostafa, 26 years old, from Giza. I graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Zamalek in 2022. I first discovered my passion for photography in 2017, when Dr. Murad Darwish asked us to capture a detailed frame before starting our sketching assignments. After seeing my shots, he praised their artistic character. Since then, I became deeply interested in photography and began applying my art studies to it. Portrait photography has always been my greatest challenge, as I strive to capture genuine emotions that truly resonate with the viewer. Along my journey, one of my works was acquired by the renowned Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris at the exhibition of the great Egyptian artist Farouk Hosny in 2022. I also took part in the Youth Salon in 2024. At one point, I was sitting at my desk with the flower in front of me, and the only light in the room came from the lamp. In that moment, with the camera in my hand, I felt inspired to capture the scene I was seeing. أنا شهد مصطفى، عمري 26 سنة، من الجيزة. تخرجت من كلية الفنون الجميلة بالزمالك عام 2022. اكتشفت شغفي بالتصوير لأول مرة في عام 2017، عندما طلب منا الدكتور مراد درويش تصوير إطار مفصل قبل البدء في واجباتنا الخاصة بالرسم. بعد أن شاهد أعمالي، أشاد بطابعها الفني. منذ ذلك الحين، أصبحت مهتمة جدًا بالتصوير وبدأت أطبق دراساتي الفنية عليه.
لطالما كان التصوير البورتريه أكبر تحدٍ بالنسبة لي، إذ أسعى لالتقاط المشاعر الحقيقية التي تتواصل مع المشاهد بشكل فعلي. خلال رحلتي، تم شراء أحد أعمالي من قبل رجل الأعمال المصري المعروف نجيب ساويرس في معرض الفنان المصري الكبير فاروق حسني عام 2022. كما شاركت في صالون الشباب عام 2024.

We asked Algerian photographer Abdullah Khalili, our Contributor of the Month, to tell us about his artistic journey in photography. He said:
<h3>Early Beginnings and Recognition</h3>
My name is Abdullah Khalili, a fine art photographer from Adrar, Algeria. I began my journey in 1998 and have since received numerous awards. I am a member of the International Federation of Photographic Art and the Qatar Photography Center, in addition to my passion for design and web development. Throughout my career, I have taken part in international salons, including the one organized by the American International Academy for Higher Education and Training in 2020, where I won second place. I also received the silver medal in the second Festival of Arts for Photography and participated in several artistic salons in Algeria.
<h3>International Recognition and Current Work</h3>
Today, I am proud to be shortlisted for the finals with a photographic work that portrays an innovative solution to combat drought. This work will be exhibited at the headquarters of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Bonn, Germany, as part of an international exhibition highlighting the power of photography in driving change and inspiring hope.

<h3>Memories of Family and Heritage</h3>
This image, which I find myself revisiting time and again, holds a deep personal meaning. It reminds me of my grandfather and father&rsquo;s struggle against the winds. It recalls the sweat of years mingled with desert sands, and the strength of hands that never gave in. My grandfather built defenses out of palm fronds and reed walls to shield against the fierce winds&mdash;as though he were resisting the entire world. Each knot he tied carried a story, and every wall he raised was a prayer for safety and blessing. For me, this image is a mirror of memory&mdash;one filled with patience, resilience, and dignity&mdash;where the simplest tools of the earth became symbols of survival and peace.

<h3>The Foggara: A Legacy of Survival</h3>
The photo also stands as living testimony to how my ancestors managed to endure life in the vast Sahara for generations, thanks to the foggara&mdash;a network of interlinked underground wells that carried water from deep beneath the earth to nourish palm groves and keep life alive in the heart of the desert. For them, the foggara was the secret of survival and a way of defying nature&rsquo;s harshness, bearing within its channels a story of endurance and determination. For me, in this modern age, I was able to immortalize this legacy in a single photograph&mdash;a testament for future generations and for all who seek authentic culture, where the bond between human and land remains unbroken. It is this very image that represents an innovative solution to the global challenge of drought.
<h3>A Striking Scene Abroad</h3>
I also captured another photograph in an Arab country, a scene that struck me deeply&mdash;a moment that sent shivers through me, like a slap awakening the conscience. A woman, burdened with a weight far heavier than her frail body, walked with labored steps along the pavement, while cars and motorcycles rushed past her without notice. It was a silent struggle between life&rsquo;s cruelty and human resilience&mdash;between poverty that bends the shoulders and dignity that compels one to move forward. طلبنا من المصور الجزائري عبد الله خليلي، مساهمنا لشهر هذا، أن يحدثنا عن رحلته الفنية في عالم التصوير الفوتوغرافي، فقال:
<h3 dir="rtl" data-start="245" data-end="276">البدايات والاعتراف المبكر</h3>
اسمي عبد الله خليلي، مصور فوتوغرافي في فن التصوير التشكيلي من أدرار، الجزائر. بدأت رحلتي عام 1998، ومنذ ذلك الحين حصلت على العديد من الجوائز. أنا عضو في الاتحاد الدولي لفن التصوير الضوئي ومركز قطر للتصوير الفوتوغرافي، إضافةً إلى شغفي بالتصميم وتطوير الويب. وخلال مسيرتي، شاركت في صالونات دولية، من بينها الصالون الذي نظمته الأكاديمية الأمريكية الدولية للتعليم العالي والتدريب عام 2020، حيث فزت بالمركز الثاني. كما حصلت على الميدالية الفضية في المهرجان الثاني لفنون التصوير، وشاركت في عدة صالونات فنية بالجزائر.
<h3 dir="rtl" data-start="791" data-end="829">الاعتراف الدولي والأعمال الحالية</h3>
اليوم، أفتخر ببلوغي مرحلة النهائيات بعمل فوتوغرافي يجسد حلاً مبتكراً لمكافحة الجفاف. وسيُعرض هذا العمل في مقر اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر في بون، ألمانيا، ضمن معرض دولي يبرز قوة التصوير الفوتوغرافي في إحداث التغيير وإلهام الأمل.

<h3 dir="rtl" data-start="1148" data-end="1176">ذكريات العائلة والتراث</h3>
هذه الصورة التي أعود إليها مراراً تحمل معنى شخصياً عميقاً. فهي تذكرني بكفاح جدي وأبي ضد الرياح. وتعيد إلى ذاكرتي عرق السنين الممزوج برمال الصحراء، وقوة الأيادي التي لم تستسلم يوماً. لقد بنى جدي دفاعات من سعف النخيل وجدران القصب ليتصدى للرياح العاتية، كما لو أنه يقاوم العالم بأسره. كل عقدة ربطها كانت حكاية، وكل جدار رفعه كان دعاءً بالأمان والبركة. بالنسبة لي، هذه الصورة مرآة للذاكرة. ذاكرة مفعمة بالصبر والصمود والكرامة حيث تحولت أبسط أدوات الأرض إلى رموز للبقاء والسلام. <img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://cdn.themiddleframe.com/static-assets/8aca9b07-7419-4618-8b48-cec69aa73e0f.jpg" alt="" width="623" height="415" /> صورة لعبد الله خليلي تُظهر كفاح جده ضد الرياح.
<h3 dir="rtl" data-start="1736" data-end="1761">الفقارة: إرث البقاء</h3>
كما تمثل الصورة شهادة حيّة على كيفية صمود أجدادي في قلب الصحراء الكبرى لأجيال متعاقبة بفضل الفقارة، وهي شبكة من الآبار المترابطة تحت الأرض كانت تنقل الماء من أعماق الأرض لتروي بساتين النخيل وتحافظ على الحياة في قلب الصحراء. كانت الفقارة بالنسبة لهم سر البقاء ووسيلة لمجابهة قسوة الطبيعة، تحمل بين قنواتها قصة صمود وإرادة. أما بالنسبة لي، في هذا العصر الحديث، فقد استطعت أن أخلّد هذا الإرث في صورة فوتوغرافية واحدة، شهادة للأجيال القادمة ولكل من يبحث عن ثقافة أصيلة، حيث تبقى العلاقة بين الإنسان والأرض وثيقة لا تنفصم. إنها الصورة ذاتها التي تمثل حلاً مبتكراً للتحدي العالمي المتمثل في الجفاف. 
<h3 dir="rtl" data-start="2444" data-end="2469">مشهد مؤثر في الخارج</h3>
كما التقطت صورة أخرى في إحدى الدول العربية، لمشهد هزني بعمق،لحظة بعثت قشعريرة في جسدي، كصفعة توقظ الضمير. امرأة مثقلة بحمل يفوق بكثير جسدها النحيل كانت تمشي بخطوات متعبة على الرصيف، فيما السيارات والدراجات تمر من حولها غير آبهة. كان صراعاً صامتاً بين قسوة الحياة وصلابة الإنسان، بين الفقر الذي يطأطئ الأكتاف والكرامة التي تدفع الإنسان إلى المضي قدماً. صورة تختصر ألم الواقع وتكشف الوجه الخفي للمدن الصاخبة.

رحلة فنية في عالم التصوير الفوتوغرافي مع عبد الله خليلي

<div>We asked Egyptian photographer El-Sayed El-Saadany, our Contributor &nbsp;of the Month, about his artistic journey in the world of photography. He said: "My name is El-Sayed El-Metwally El-Saadany, I&rsquo;m 25 years old، from Gharbia Governorate. I graduated from Al-Azhar University, Faculty of Arabic Language. My photography journey began in 2023 when I started taking pictures of my friends at university using my phone. That&rsquo;s when I began learning the basics of photography online. In the beginning, I photographed everything، architecture, street scenes, nature, and products، until I discovered my true passion in street and documentary photography. In 2024, I got my first camera and I&rsquo;m still learning to this day. I was awarded third place in the Zayed Award for Creativity, fourth place in the Journalists&rsquo; Syndicate competition in the university students&rsquo; category in 2024, and third place in the Life Street competition in the photo story category in 2025. El-Sayed El-Saadany has a deep passion for documentary photography a passion that clearly shines through in the images he shares, each one reflecting time, effort, and identity. In the village of "Oshiem" in Fayoum Governorate one of the few places that still preserve their ancient handmade crafts and continue to live in their echo he captured a powerful scene: a local pottery maker carrying a clay jar on his shoulder. This frame, as seen through the eyes of a photographer, holds more than just an image it carries a message. The jar, formed from clay and shaped into art, becomes a symbol of heritage passed down through generations. Behind the young man stands an old, crumbling pottery kiln a silent witness to a bygone era. In contrast, the presence of movement in the image the youth, the action symbolizes continuity and resilience, a quiet determination to keep ancestral crafts alive. <img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://cdn.themiddleframe.com/static-assets/cf8b81fe-6c2c-4cba-a6a1-15cedd8fb743.jpg" alt="" width="584" height="389" /> To El-Saadany, this frame speaks of places untouched by the noise of the city, places that still strive to protect their identity, heritage, and cultural memory, even as time pushes them toward decay and disappearance. He sees his photograph not merely as a documentary image, but as a living testimony a visual tribute to daily struggle, to the beauty of simplicity that we often overlook in the rush of everyday life. It is through the lens that such moments are preserved, allowing us to pause and truly see.</div>

سألنا المصور المصري السيد السعدني مصور الشهر عن مسيرته الفنية في عالم التصوير، فقال: اسمى السيد المتولى السعدنى، عمري 25، من محافظة الغربية، تخرجت من جامعة الأزهر كلية اللغة العربية، بدأت مسيرتي في ااتصوير عام 2023 حينما كنت التقط صورا لأصدقائى فى الجامعة بالهاتف، ومن هنا بدأت تعلم أساسيات التصوير من على الانترنت. فى البداية كنت أصور كل شئ، معمارى وشارع وطببعية ومنتجات، حتى وجدت شغفى في تصوير الشارع والتصوير الوثائقى، وفي عام 2024 اقتنيت أول كاميرا وما زلت &nbsp;اتعلم حتى الآن. حصلت على المركز الثالث فى مسابقة زايد للإبداع، والمركز الرابع فى مسابقة نقابة الصحفيين محور طلبة الجامعات 2024، والمركز الثالث في مسابقه لايف ستريت فى محور القصة المصورة 2025. يهتم السيد السعدني بالتصوير الوثائقي، ولذا أرسل لنا صور تجسّد الزمن والجهد والهوية، ففي قرية "أوشيم" بمحافظة الفيوم، واحدة من القرى التي لا تزال تحافظ على صناعاتها اليدوية القديمة، وتعيش على صداها، التقط صورة لعامل مصري في صناعة الفخار، كادر يحمل رسالة رآها بعين المصور. في هذا الكادر، يحمل الشاب جرة على كتفه، تلك الجرّة، المصنوعة من الطين والمشكّلة كعملٍ فني، تصبح رمزًا للإرث الذي يُنقَل عبر الأجيال. يقف خلف الشاب فرن فخّار قديم ومتهالك، شاهدٌ صامت على زمنٍ مضى. وعلى النقيض من ذلك، فإن وجود الحركة في الصورة يرمز إلى الاستمرارية والصمود، وإلى عزيمةٍ هادئة للحفاظ على الحِرف اليدوية الموروثة حيّة. <img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://cdn.themiddleframe.com/static-assets/cf8b81fe-6c2c-4cba-a6a1-15cedd8fb743.jpg" alt="" width="584" height="389" /> يري السيد السعدني أن هذا الكادر يخبره بأن هنا؛ أماكن تعيش بعيدا عن ضوضاء المدينة، لا تزال تحاول الحفاظ على هويتها وتراثها وثقافتها، حتى وإن كان الوقت يفرض عليها الهدم والاندثار. كما يري السيد السعدني أن الكادر الذي التقطه بعدسته ليس فقط صورة وثائقية، وإنما هو شهادة حية على الكفاح اليومي، وعلى جمال البساطة التي من الممكن أن تمر أمامنا يوميا دون أن نلمحه أو نلتفت إليه إلا من خلال الصورة التي تحتفظ به.

<h3>The most unhelpful advice ever given. If mental health were that simple, why do so many of us feel lost in our own minds?</h3>
<h3>A healthy mind isn&rsquo;t about constant positivity&mdash;it&rsquo;s about understanding the clutter. Imagine your mind as a room: every unresolved emotion, unhealed wound, and unspoken fear piles up until you&rsquo;re tripping over the mess. So let&rsquo;s ask the real question: How clean is your&nbsp;mental&nbsp;space?"</h3>
<h3>A mind is healthy when clear of:</h3>
<h3>A- comparison,&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>We keep comparing ourselves to others or even to our past selves, and that creates a gap between what is and what can be. Easier said than done, but here is how: by understanding that everyone is going through their own path and paths may seem similar, but they definitely aren&rsquo;t. Starting points are not the same, Conditions are not the same, and most importantly, the experience&rsquo;s impact on the person varies. So just keep swimming like the wise Dory once said, and hope for the best.</h3>
<h3>B- Judgments,</h3>
<h3>I think it&rsquo;s human nature to judge, no matter how hard we try not to or pretend that we don&rsquo;t judge, but in fact we do, whether we are judging others according to what &ldquo;we&rdquo; think is right or wrong,</h3>
<h3>Or judging ourselves on what we once did or said, judging our choices under the umbrella of good and bad, forgetting that this mindset is fear-based.</h3>
<h3>C- Fear,</h3>
<h3>Understanding that fear is one of the main characters in our minds and learning to accept that fact will help us decode that emotion that most often takes over and leave the mind swamped with &ldquo;negative&rdquo; thoughts.</h3>
<h3>Fear is there to help us, it&rsquo;s like an alarm system that goes off when something might be harmful to our survival. It&rsquo;s built in; no one is without fear, but regulating fear helps us make the most of it.&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>Sometimes we feel anxious or worried, and that&rsquo;s a chance to dig deeper and see what the real reasoning is behind this feeling. Sometimes we need to reassure our minds that it&rsquo;s okay, we are safe.</h3>
<h3>A mind is healthy when:</h3>
<h3>Staying active,</h3>
<h3>An active mind is a good trade for an overthinking mind. Try to keep your mind active with important matters, a good book to read, a deep conversation with someone you trust, or even a new hobby that interests you, having a pet, maybe some plants, or better yet, discover your artistic side ( we all have one)&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>Having a support network,</h3>
<h3>&nbsp;Being the social creatures we are, we need people around us who help lift us and us them too. Surround yourself with people you love and trust. Those who make us feel safe and seen are important to have a healthy mentality.</h3>
<h3>Able to self-love,</h3>
<h3>We think we love ourselves, but do we really?&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>When you're free of judgment, comparison, and fear, loving imperfections, realizing that it&rsquo;s all good and can be better.&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>I know you might have heard this before or maybe read it somewhere, but from personal experience, these are the core points, even if they take a different shape in everyone&rsquo;s eyes.&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>Allow yourself to explore and know that there is something good in every bad situation; finding the silver lining helps see the bigger picture.</h3>
<h3>Trusting that everything that happens is inevitable for you to reach the mind state that you feel comfortable in.</h3>

<h3 dir="rtl">&rdquo; كن سعيدًا فقط" أكثر نصيحة غير مفيدة على الإطلاق. لو كانت الصحة العقلية بهذه البساطة، فلماذا يشعر الكثير منا بأنه ضائع في دوامة أفكاره؟</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">العقل السليم لا يعني الإيجابية الدائمة، بل فهم الفوضى بداخله. تخيل عقلك كغرفة: كل عاطفة غير مُحلَّة، وجرح لم يلتئم، وخوف لم يجد الامان يتراكم حتى تتعثر في هذه الفوضى. إذن، لنطرح السؤال الحقيقي</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">:&nbsp;ما مدى نظافة مساحتك العقلية؟</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">العقل السليم يخلو من:</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">أ- المقارنة نواصل مقارنة أنفسنا بالآخرين أو حتى بأنفسنا في الماضي، مما يخلق فجوة بين "ما هو" و "ما يمكن أن يكون". الكلام أسهل من التطبيق، لكن الحل كالتالي: افهم أن كل شخص يسير في طريقه الخاص. قد تبدو المسارات متشابهة، لكنها ليست كذلك. نقاط البداية مختلفة، الظروف مختلفة، والأهم من ذلك، تأثير التجارب على الشخص يختلف. لذا، كما قالت "دوري" الحكيمة:&nbsp;"استمر في السباحة"&nbsp;وتفاءل بالخير.</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">ب- الأحكام أعتقد أن إصدار الأحكام جزء من طبيعتنا البشرية، مهما حاولنا تجنبها أو التظاهر بعدم القيام بها. نحن نحكم على الآخرين بناءً على ما نعتقد أنه "صحيح" أو "خاطئ"، ونحكم على أنفسنا بسبب ما فعلناه أو قلناه في الماضي، ونصنف خياراتنا تحت مظلة "جيد" و"سيء"، متناسين أن هذا التفكير قائم على&nbsp;الخوف.</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">ج- الخوف افهم أن الخوف أحد الشخصيات الرئيسية في عقلك، وتقبُّل هذه الحقيقة سيساعدك على فك شفرة هذه المشاعر التي غالبًا ما تستولي على العقل وتغمره بالأفكار "السلبية". الخوف موجود لمساعدتنا؛ إنه مثل نظام إنذار ينطلق عندما يكون هناك شيء قد يهدد بقاءنا. إنه فطري، ولا يوجد إنسان بلا خوف. لكن&nbsp;تنظيم الخوف&nbsp;يساعدنا في الاستفادة منه. أحيانًا نشعر بالقلق أو التوتر، وهذه فرصة للتعمق ومعرفة السبب الحقيقي وراء هذا الشعور. أحيانًا، كل ما نحتاجه هو طمأنة عقولنا بأن&nbsp;كل شيء على ما يرام، نحن بأمان.</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">العقل السليم يكون عندما:</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">١- يبقى نشطًا العقل النشط هو بديل رائع للعقل المفرط في التفكير. حافظ على نشاط عقلك بأمور مهمة: كتاب جيد، محادثة عميقة مع شخص تثق به، هواية جديدة، اقتناء حيوان أليف أو نباتات، أو حتى اكتشاف جانبك الفني (كلنا لدينا واحد!).</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">٢- يمتلك شبكة دعم بكوننا كائنات اجتماعية، نحتاج إلى أشخاص حولنا يرفعون من معنوياتنا، ونرفع معنوياتهم بدورنا. أحط نفسك بأحبائك ومن تثق بهم، فهؤلاء الذين يشعرونك بالأمان والرؤية ضروريون لصحة عقلية سليمة.</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">٣- يكون قادرًا على حب الذات نظن أننا نحب أنفسنا، لكن هل هذا صحيح؟ عندما تتحرر من الأحكام والمقارنة والخوف، سيصبح حب الذات سلسًا وسهلًا، لأنه فقط عندها ستستطيع&nbsp;تذكر من أنت حقًا، بكل عيوبك ونقائصك، مدركًا أن كل شيء على ما يرام.. ويمكن أن يصبح أفضل.</h3>
<h3 dir="rtl">قد تكون سمعت هذا من قبل أو قرأته في مكان ما، لكن من تجربة شخصية، هذه هي النقاط الأساسية، حتى لو اتخذت أشكالًا مختلفة في عيون الجميع. اسمح لنفسك بالاستكشاف، واعلم أن هناك&nbsp;شيئًا جيدًا في كل موقف سيء؛ إيجاد الجانب المشرق يساعدك في رؤية الصورة الأكبر. ثق&nbsp;بأن كل ما يحدث هو حتمي لتصل إلى الحالة العقلية التي تشعر فيها بالراحة</h3>

And it really is. We see many trends that occur only during Ramadan; no matter how one looks at it, it&rsquo;s full of kindness and nobility.
You see streets dress up with decorations for an entire month. People change due to fasting; Ramadan can be/feel different depending on where you live in the world as every country celebrates this holy month of Ramadan their way; the cultures and traditions vary from one place to another, but they all agree on one thing, that it is indeed Kareem.
Ramadan is the time of the year when day and night couldn&rsquo;t have more contrast.
Daytime in Ramadan is usually about quieter streets and shorter work hours. You see people everywhere reading the Quran or going to pray, and then gradually it gets busy and loud; it's 2 hours before Iftar, it dawns on people that it&rsquo;s almost over, they arerunning out of time to arrive somewhere or to prepare the Iftar food, short meaningless fights happen at homes and in the streets, and then all of a sudden it happens&hellip;
It&rsquo;s the prayer calling for Maghrib!
It all goes very quiet; the streets are almost empty, and it&rsquo;s all so serene and beautiful for about 15 minutes. Then, it&rsquo;s nighttime!
Tarawih is an essential part of Ramadan, People go to mosques and some of them make an event of it, going to the oldest mosque, the biggest mosque or, the mosque with a sheikh who has a great voice, or even a mosque that finishes quickly.
I can talk about Ramadan till next Ramadan, but I think it is best to see it from a perspective that adds life to words, which is Photography.
As it&rsquo;s becoming my favorite thing to do, meeting with photographers and bringing their side of the story. So, for this month, I met with a photographer who is also a nomad, partially archeologist, and a tour guide, among many other job titles... Sameh Mohamed.
Despite his young age, Sameh has done a lot and gained a very decent experience in photography in multiple genres varying from street photography to ancient monuments.
Let&rsquo;s get into it. Ramadan for photographers, is a golden chance to capture wonderful moments and amazing vibes that show the magic of Ramadan. &ldquo;Walking in Egypt is like a movie scene.&rdquo;
We got some insights on where to go in Ramadan for Iftar or Suhoor.
Each spot in Cairo has a totally different yet amazing vibe, such as downtown (the real one, not the one in tagamo3), Khan El Khalili, and Kurba. &nbsp;
For a photographer in such a themed month, almost everywhere you go is going to be crowded and loud, and this is exactly where the fun is. Among the chaos, there are always these moment that makes the whole day much easier and, in the end, worth it. One of those moments was when Sameh was working in the Matareya event (which needs a blog of its own)
At some point they close the street&rsquo;s entrances and exits, and Sameh wanted to take this shot from a certain spot, but it was out of the closed zone, so he was talking to the guy by the barricade to let him go out, but the guy wouldn&rsquo;t budge, so Sameh was telling him that the family living in that apartment invited him to shoot from their balcony, the guy then looked at the balcony only to realize this was his own house and his mom or sister was giving him the okay, and that smooth Sameh was able to go and get the shot he wanted and became good buddies with that guy as well.
So Ramadan is the month where good prevails and doors open with blessings everywhere. We&rsquo;ll talk more about Ramadan in our upcoming blogs, so stay tuned.

وهذا صحيح. نرى الكثير من الظواهر التي لا تظهر إلا في رمضان، مهما نظرنا إليها، فهي مليئة باللطف والنبل.
ترى الشوارع مُزينةً طوال شهر كامل. يتغير الناس بسبب الصيام؛ قد يختلف رمضان من مكان لآخر، فكل بلد يحتفل بشهر رمضان المبارك على طريقته الخاصة؛ تختلف الثقافات والتقاليد من مكان لآخر، لكنها جميعًا تتفق على شيء واحد، وهو أنه رمضان كريم.
رمضان هو الوقت من السنة الذي لا يمكن أن يكون فيه الليل والنهار أكثر تباينًا.
عادةً ما يكون نهار رمضان هادئًا في الشوارع وساعات عمل أقصر. ترى الناس في كل مكان يقرأون القرآن أو يذهبون للصلاة، ثم يزدحم المكان تدريجيًا ويزداد صخبًا. قبل ساعتين من الإفطار، يدرك الناس أن الوقت قد شارف على الانتهاء، وأن الوقت يضيق بهم للوصول إلى مكان ما أو لتحضير طعام الإفطار، وتحدث مشاجرات قصيرة لا معنى لها في المنازل والشوارع، ثم فجأةً يحدث...
إنها صلاة المغرب!
يسود هدوءٌ تام؛ الشوارع شبه خالية، ويسودها هدوءٌ وجمالٌ ساحرٌ لخمس عشرة دقيقة. ثمّ، يحل الليل!
صلاة التراويح جزء أساسي من رمضان، يذهب الناس إلى المساجد وبعضهم يجعل من ذلك حدثاً، يذهب إلى أقدم مسجد، أو أكبر مسجد، أو المسجد الذي يوجد به شيخ ذو صوت عظيم، أو حتى المسجد الذي ينتهي بسرعة.
أستطيع أن أتحدث عن رمضان حتى رمضان القادم، ولكن أعتقد أن الأفضل أن ننظر إليه من منظور يضيف الحياة إلى الكلمات، وهو التصوير الفوتوغرافي.
بما أن لقاء المصورين وسرد قصصهم أصبح من هواياتي المفضلة، فقد التقيت هذا الشهر بمصور فوتوغرافي، وهو أيضًا رحالة، وعالم آثار، ومرشد سياحي، بالإضافة إلى العديد من المهن الأخرى... سامح محمد.
على الرغم من صغر سنه، إلا أن سامح أنجز الكثير واكتسب خبرة جيدة جدًا في التصوير الفوتوغرافي في أنواع متعددة تتراوح من تصوير الشوارع إلى المعالم الأثرية القديمة.
لنبدأ، رمضان للمصورين فرصة ذهبية لالتقاط لحظات رائعة وأجواء مميزة تعكس سحر رمضان. "المشي في مصر أشبه بمشهد سينمائي".
حصلنا على بعض الأفكار حول الأماكن التي يمكن أن نذهب إليها في رمضان لتناول الإفطار أو السحور.
كل مكان في القاهرة له أجواء مختلفة تمامًا ومذهلة، مثل وسط المدينة (الحقيقي، وليس الموجود في التجمع الخامس)، وخان الخليلي، والكوربة.
بالنسبة لمصور في شهرٍ ذي طابعٍ خاص، ستجد نفسك في كل مكان تقريبًا مكتظًا بالناس، وهنا يكمن السرور. وسط هذه الفوضى، هناك دائمًا لحظاتٌ تُسهّل يومك، وتجعله يستحق العناء في النهاية. إحدى تلك اللحظات كانت عندما كان سامح يعمل في فعالية المطرية (التي تحتاج إلى مدونة خاصة بها).
في مرحلة ما، أغلقوا مداخل ومخارج الشارع، وأراد سامح أن يلتقط هذه اللقطة من مكان معين، لكنها كانت خارج المنطقة المغلقة، لذلك كان يتحدث إلى الرجل عند الحاجز ليسمح له بالخروج، لكن الرجل لم يتزحزح، لذلك كان سامح يخبره أن العائلة التي تعيش في تلك الشقة دعته للتصوير من شرفتهم، ثم نظر الرجل إلى الشرفة فقط ليدرك أن هذا هو منزله وأن والدته أو أخته كانت تعطيه الموافقة، وأن سامح السلس كان قادرًا على الذهاب والحصول على اللقطة التي يريدها وأصبح صديقًا جيدًا لذلك الرجل أيضًا.

&nbsp;So, What Is AI Really?&nbsp;&nbsp;
In short, it's a tool that originated from the calculator (really). It runs calculations a lot faster and much more efficiently, not only using numbers but also words and even images. That&rsquo;s what makes it a very important tool in so many fields of life nowadays.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;
&nbsp;AI and Utilization&nbsp;&nbsp;
Depending on the field you are in, there is a place for AI to help&mdash;whether in automating mundane tasks, creating a marketing campaign, or even managing projects. But since we are all about photos and photographers, we must know more...&nbsp;&nbsp;
We had to ask the experts so we could come closer to a clearer idea of what we call AI.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Naturally, we spoke with someone who has a strong tech background and is one of the smartest people I personally know. He is also the CTO of the TMF family, a tech consultant, and an AI/software project manager: Moath Musa.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Moath had great insights about AI, and they go as follows&hellip;&nbsp;&nbsp;
"AI is a great tool that can help in many fields of life and business. It can advance productivity by up to 70%, while the remaining 30% depends on the human factor. However, reaching this 70% efficiency requires educated and informed requests. The more one understands exactly how to craft and use proper prompts and keywords when dealing with AI, the more efficient the results can be. So, it&rsquo;s about integrating the human factor with the technological solutions provided by AI".&nbsp;&nbsp;
Lastly, Moath added that editorial pictures can never be replaced by generative AI, as they capture live events, and each photo is unique. However, when it comes to commercial photos, AI can be a great help.&nbsp;&nbsp;
That&rsquo;s the tech part of it. For the artistic part, it was crucial to meet with a photographer with extensive experience&mdash;one who specializes in restoring ancient artifacts and buildings in Egypt: Mr. Hesham Tawheed.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Hesham shed light on the artistry of photography in the age of AI, explaining that the differences between a professional photographer and a beginner fade with AI.&nbsp;&nbsp;
"For example, if a client wanted to hire a professional photographer to ensure high-quality images and pay X amount of money, that same client could now hire a beginner and get similar quality images with the help of AI for 1/4 X. However, without the experience of a professional photographer, the results may vary, as AI still depends on the prompts and keywords used as input. A talented photographer with a clear vision will always achieve better results. Moreover, AI cannot replace real photography, especially when it comes to monuments and ancient artifacts. A machine won't be able to capture the imperfections caused by erosion, which add value to the photo and reflect the actual history of such monuments or artifacts. The same applies to Arabic calligraphy, where each style refers to a different era&mdash;something essential for those seeking authenticity in such images".&nbsp;&nbsp;
Now that we&rsquo;ve covered all this, we must ask: Is AI a good thing or a bad thing? Or, more importantly, is there a silver lining that can guide us through this duality of good and bad?&nbsp;&nbsp;

بشكل عام الكاميرات المستخدمة يكون حجم المستشعر فيها 35مم ( full frame )
بينما Crop frame&nbsp; يكون المستشعر أصغر فبالتالي تظهر الصورة مقصوصة الأطراف شبيها لما يحدث عند استخدام ال Zoom in
مثلا، اذا استخدمت&nbsp; عدسة 50 مم على كاميرا crop، تظهر صورة مثل الذي يتم التقاطها بعدسة 75مم.
* تؤثر على البعد البؤري للصورة.1
تختلف الكاميرات من حيث المستشعرات، مثلاً:
Canon 1.6x crop sensor Nikon, Sony, Sigma, and Pentax 1.5x
Panasonic + Olympus&nbsp; 2x
تتسائل ما الأفضل الاطار الكامل أم الاطار المقصوص؟
الإطار الكامل أكيد!
حيث أن المستشعر فيه اكبر فيكون المدى الديناميكي فيه اكبر ويكون ادائه بحالات الإضاءة المنخفضة افضل بكثير ويعطي عمق اكثر وجودة وحدّة اعلى بالصور. إلا أن الإطار الكامل له سلبيات يجب ذكرها، أولها سعره مرتفع، ثانيا في حال كانت الكاميرا غير مزودة بمرآة يكون حجمها أكبر ووزنها أثقل، وحجم الصورة يكون أكبر حتى لو كان في صيغة .jpg
ملاحظة مهمة٬ يجب الانتباه عند شراء العدسات، حيث أن هناك عدسات مخصصة للكاميرات ذات الإطار المقصوص ولا تعمل على الكاميرات الأخرى. .

What does long exposure mean? In simpler terms, it refers to a slow shutter speed.
The shutter in cameras operates at different speeds, which affects the speed at which the image is captured. It can be as fast as fractions of a second for short exposures or much slower for long exposures. &nbsp;
How do you capture images with long exposure? Practically, when you change the shutter speed on the camera, different numbers appear such as 1", 2", 4", 8", and so on up to 30" or even "BULB". These numbers represent the duration of the shutter speed, which can range from one second, two seconds, four seconds, and so on up to 30 seconds for the "BULB" mode. &nbsp;
*BULB: The shutter remains open as long as the shutter release button is pressed and closes when the button is released. &nbsp;
For example, if the shutter speed is set to 8", it means that the camera's sensor will capture everything for a duration of 8 seconds. Everything in the image will remain stationary, while moving objects will appear less sharp, depending on the number of seconds in the shutter speed.
In this type of photography, it is advisable to use a tripod because any camera movement will affect the image. &nbsp;

ماذا يعني التعرض الطويل ؟
بكلمات أبسط، سرعة غالق بطيء
يعمل الغالق في الكاميرات بسرعات مختلفة، تؤثر على سرعة التقاط الصورة التي قد تصل لاجزاء من الثانية في حال كان التعرض قصير، وبالضبط تماماً في العكس في حال كان التعرض طويل؟
كيفية التقاط الصور في التعرض البطيء؟ عملياً عند تغيير سرعة الغالق بالكاميرا تظهر أرقام مختلفة&nbsp; 1" , 2" , 4" , 8" .....&nbsp; 30", BULB، وهذه الأرقام تعني المدة الزمنية&nbsp; لسرعة الغالق والتي ممكن أن تكون مدتها ثانية واحدة او ثانيتين او ٤ ثواني او٫٫٫٫الخ إلى أن تصل ل 30 ثانية تظهر ال BULB.&nbsp;
*ال BULB: يبقى الغالق مفتوحًا أثناء الضغط على زر تحرير الغالق، وينغلق عندما يتم تحرير الزر.
مثال :&nbsp;اذاكان طول الصورة 8" هذا يعني أن&nbsp; المستشعر في الكاميرا سوف يلتقط كل شيء لمدة ٨ ثواني
ويبقى كل شيء بالصورة ثابت كما هو، بينما يقل وضوح كل ما هو متحرك، متأثرا بعدد الثواني في سرعة الغالق.
في هذا النوع من الصور يجب استخدام الحامل الثلاثي، لأن اي حركة بالكاميرا سوف&nbsp; تؤثر على الصورة.&nbsp;

Long Exposure

التعرض الطويل

The Golden Hour, also known as the Magic Hour, is the period of time after sunrise and before sunset, lasting around 20-30 minutes. It is considered the best time for photography. &nbsp;
Why is that? During this time of day, the sunlight is softer, preventing harsh shadows, and it creates long shadows because the angle of the sunlight is low. &nbsp;

The Golden Hour is characterized by warm colors like red, yellow, and orange. &nbsp;
After the Golden Hour, there is another brief period called the Blue Hour, which lasts for a very short time, up to 10 minutes, when the sun is below the horizon. During this time, the sky appears deep blue, and the scene is filled with a bluish light, making it a suitable time for photography.

الساعة الذهبية / السحرية هي الفترة ما بعد شروق الشمس و ما قبل غروب الشمس&nbsp;تترواح مدتها بين ٢٠-٣٠&nbsp; دقيقه وهي افضل فترة للتصوير.
لماذا ؟
في هذا الوقت من النهار تكون الشمس خفيفة مما يمنع تواجد ظلال حادة، وتعطي ظل أطول&nbsp;&nbsp;لأن زاوية أشعة الشمس تكون منخفضة.

ساعات النهار /ساعات الغروب/ الشروق:
بعد فترة الساعة الذهبية تدخل فترة ثانية لمدة قصيرة جداً&nbsp;تسمى بالساعة الزرقاء، التي تتراوح مدتها حتى ١٠ دقائق، عندما تكون الشمس تحت الأفق ، وعندما تكون السماء زرقاء عميقة ويمتلئ المشهد بضوء مزرق - فهذا هو الوقت المناسب. مصدر الصورة: Abdullah Salah photo
