Mauritania's national team claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win against Botswana in the opening round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, held at the Olympic Stadium. The game's only goal came in the 84th minute, courtesy of Sidi Amer Bouni. The match is part of Group C, which also includes Egypt and Cape Verde.
