The Shidar is a traditional garment worn by women in Aden. Originally introduced from Persia, it has become a symbol of southern Yemeni elegance. Southern women carefully choose their shidar from fine silk fabrics, pairing it with a light, transparent veil known as the *niqba* or *khinnah* to cover their faces. This veil is often black or dyed to match the *dir’*, a dress whose tail peeks out from the left side. To complete the look, the Adeni woman selects elegant sandals and adorns herself with accessories such as *shawali* (anklets) and rings, reflecting a distinct and graceful style.
