The 56th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair takes place from January to February 5 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center under the theme "Read... In the Beginning Was the Word." 
The fair features participation from 80 countries, 1,300 publishers, and 6,000 exhibitors. Oman is the Guest of Honor for this edition, while the late Dr. Ahmed Mostagir has been chosen as the Fair's Personality, and writer Fatima El-Maadoul has been named the Personality of the Children's Book Fair.
