Alfred Shammas Palace
Alfred Shammas Palace, located in the Korba district of Heliopolis, stands as a stunning example of architectural elegance and refined living. Its grandeur and beauty reflect a lifestyle of sophistication and charm.
The palace was gifted by King Farouk to his bride, Safinaz Zulfiqar (later Queen Farida), as a residence for her and her family after they moved from Alexandria to Cairo to prepare for the royal wedding.
The palace originally belonged to Alfred Shammas, a merchant of Levantine origin who lived in Egypt. His initials in English are still inscribed on the palace gate. Today, the palace stands beside the Evangelical Church, overlooking Thawra Street on one side and Cleopatra Street on the other.
