After its establishment, the mosque was named after Sheikh Ali, known as Abu Shabeb, the grandson of Imam Ahmad Al-Rifai. After its establishment, the mosque was attributed to Imam Ahmad Al-Rifai himself, the author of the Rifai method, one of the Sufi methods. Although Imam Ahmad Al-Rifai was not buried in that mosque, he celebrates his birth annually in a scene full of joy and happiness.
