Forever is Now Edition III at The Pyramids of Giza presents: ‘Reality is Timeless’ by Rashid Al Khalifa

‘Reality is Timeless’, plays on the concept of time and discovery influenced by ancient mythology. Al Khalifa creates fragments of a labyrinth, relics that emerge from the ground, tilted at varying angles. Each fragment exhibits different motifs adopted from the diagram of the Egyptian labyrinth presented by the 17th-century Jesuit scholar Anthanasius Kircher in his book Turris Babel (1679). The perforated motifs on the copper and brass exterior, beautifully oxidise and cast shadows of light on the ground.

هذا التمثال  تحية آسرة أنوثة الإلهة والنعمة الخالدة التي تجسدها ححور.
هذا التمثال هو الجسر بين الرمزية القديمة المعاصرة، ويحتفل بالإرث الدائم للجمال والقوة.

في هذا المعرض قدم الفنان  اندماجا للحرف التقليدية والابتكار المستدام الحديث في الفن الذي يُحيي التراث الغني لمصر من خلال الضوء والظل، وكل ذلك تكريماً لفن نسج الخوص فقدم حوارا بين العصور، يحتفل بالابتكار الذي يربط الممارسات المستدامة بعظمة مصر القديمة.

Al Shashai used wicker weaving an ancient craft from Egypt  to honor the history of the pyramids while offering a contemporary interpretation of their impact on our region’s development.

Additionally, every individual piece exhibits various motifs inspired by the diagram of the Egyptian labyrinth.

Feuerman depicts a modern woman embodying the essence of Hathor, with whom Egyptian mythology holds great reverence. The sculpture aims to capture water-like fluidity associated with fertility and represented by the goddess Hathor.
